Synopsis: Game (Retail Franchise) (06/02/2018)

Game Digital plc is the parent company of Game Retail Limited, a British video game company that trades under the Game brand, stylised as GAME.

The company's origins lie in the founding of the Rhino Group by Terry Norris and Bev Ripley in 1991. A number of mergers and acquisitions followed during the 1990s, and in 1999, the company was purchased by Electronics Boutique Limited, which rebranded itself as The Game Group. The company continued to expand during the 2000s, purchasing several retailers including Gameswizards in Australia.

In 2011 we worked closely with GAME & the Leeds Young Peoples Film Festival to host a gaming tournament as part of the festival. The festival took place in the Leeds Town Hall using Little Big Planet 2 which GAME supplied. The prize was £200, a copy of LBP2, a GAME voucher and a goody bag of film festival merchandise to the player who could complete LYPFF’s custom level in the quickest time.
